At the 2007 NWMC Annual Banquet, two awards were presented by Environmental Best Practices Committee Chair and Niles Village Attorney Joe Annunzio. The Village of Northbrook received an award for their purchase of "green tags" for wind power, being a platinum level member of Clean Air Counts and the purchase of hybrid vehicles for the municipal fleet. The Village of Lake Zurich also received an award for their Green Fleet, adoption of an ordinance to limit engine idling and extensive recycling programs. Congratulations to both of the winners!
