SPC Price Increases on 2017 Ambulances
The SPC Governing Board has agreed to 2017 Horton Type I Additional Duty Ambulance Contract #133 price increases due to chassis increases to Foster Coach, Sterling, IL.  The 2017 prices include the addition of the 4-point harness for seating areas in the patient compartment, making it safer for the attendant in the back of the ambulance as mandated under Federal and Illinois Specifications. The contract is in effect through December 31, 2017.  The increases are as follows:

2016 Ford F650 $  266,458.00 $  267,933.00 $1,475.0 0.55%
2016 Ford F450 4 x 2 $  232,956.00 $  235,926.00 $2,970.00 1.27%
2017 International 4300 $  266,475.00 $  267,907.00 $1,432.00 0.54%
2017 Freightliner M2 $  260,385.00 $  263,930.00 $1,775.00 0.68%
2016 Dodge D4500 $   244,706.00 $  245,611.00 $905.00 0.37%
2016 Ford E450 Cutaway $  208,019.00 $  209,099.00 $1,080.00 0.52%
2016 Ford F550 4 x 2 $  233,911.00 $  237,016.00 $3,025.00 1.29%

The International TerraStar chassis is no longer available.

Federal and Illinois Specifications now require the installation of a 4 - point restraint in EACH seating position  in the module  (including the primary attendant seat) for a total of (5).  I have included the cost of the new 4-point  restraint  system ($450 per position) in the base price.  Please note that Horton's 4-point  restraint system includes a convenient single-buckle design and a padded safety vest as standard. The safety vest itself is exclusive to Horton and provides a comfortable fit f or the occupant(s).   If there is no CPR seat, a credit will be provided.

A Stryker Power Load, Stryker Performance Load, or Ferno Stat Trac cot fastening system is recommended as an additional option to meet the Federal Standards, but none of these systems is currently required in Illinois.   It should be anticipated that this requirement may change in the near future. The most popular  system, the Stryker Power Load (an additional $24,933.00) requires  the use of a Stryker Power cot (purchased separately).  A Stryker Performance  Load system (with optional inductive charger) would  be $7,098.00.  To date, we have not sold any of the standard Ferno Stat Trac systems included in the base price.  A credit of ($1,547.00) will be deducted to delete the Stat Trac from the base unit.

Fire Apparatus

 SPC Governing Board Letter

The Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) Governing Board has voted to suspend the heavy duty apparatus program and has therefore declined to award any further contract extensions with Global Emergency Products/Pierce of Aurora, IL for Pierce Manufacturing Arrow XT Heavy Duty Fire Apparatus Contract #136, and the month-to-month extension that had been awarded in the interim has been rescinded.
The SPC Governing Board has determined that the Heavy Duty Fire Apparatus Program needs to be reevaluated and revamped if it is to be a viable part of the SPC portfolio.
If you have been in discussions with Global Emergency Products for the purchase of the Arrow XT on SPC Contract #136, please be aware that Global Emergency Products no longer has no contractual relationship with the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative or Northwest Municipal Conference (NWMC) and may not reference our joint purchasing agreements in marketing or sales.
